FLO-2D – v2009

FLO-2D Button FLO-2D is a dynamic flood routing model that simulates channel flow, unconfined overland flow and street flow. It can simulate a flood over complex topography and roughness while reporting on volume conservation; the key to accurate flood distribution. The model uses the full dynamic wave momentum equation and a central finite difference routing scheme with eight potential flow directions to predict the progression of a flood hydrograph over a system of square grid elements.

The purchase of the FLO-2D model includes the v2009 software and a subscription service that is good until the next release.  A hardcopy of the FLO-2D Manuals is not included with the purchase.

RiverFLO-2D – v2009

RiverFLO-2D Logo

RiverFLO-2D RiverFLO-2D is a hydrodynamic, mobile bed model for rivers that will compliment the FLO-2D model where 2-D in channel flow hydraulics are required. RiverFLO-2D is Hydronia model.

RiverFLO-2D is a perfect companion to the FLO-2D model.  FLO-2D can route a large flood to the project river reach, accounting for floodwave attenuation and detailed floodplain features.   RiverFLO-2D can then predict the detailed 2-D channel hydraulics and overbank flooding through the shorter project reach. RiverFLO-2D has been applied on a number of river projects worldwide including large rivers in South America and in the United States.

The purchase of the RiverFLO-2D includes the most current software with bug fixes, updates and technical support that is good until the next release.

FLO-2D v2009 Processor Programs and Support Software

FreqPlot

FreqPlot is a frequency analysis program used to compute return period rainfall and flood peak discharge.  It was developed by Darde deRoulhac of Payson, Arizona and revised and graphically enhanced by HAREC s.r.l. of Rome Italy.  FreqPlot enables a comparison of the data and fitted curves on four probability distribution plots including Extreme Value, Log Extreme Value, Normal and Log Normal.  This comparison permits the user to select the best fitting distribution curve to the data and represents a significant enhancement over the Bulletin 17B method.

DFIRM New

The DFIRM tool was created by Anderson Consulting Engineers of Fort Collins Colorado.  This tool can process digital flood insurance rate maps (DFIRM’s).  The DFIRM tool allows the user to produce maps that comply with FEMA’s map modernization guidelines.  The DFIRM Tool is used with FLO-2D MAPPER post-processor program or as a stand alone mapping tool.  DFIRM maps prepared with this tool can be submitted to FEMA for FIS studies.

FEMA -

FIS Project License

A FEMA FIS Project License is needed for any FIS map submittal to FEMA that was based on the application of the FLO-2D Software.  This product includes a full and current FLO-2D model licensed to the FIS Project and the licensing documentation that must be submitted to FEMA along with the FIS report and input and output data files.  The entire package is archived with FEMA.

FLO-2D – v2009 Subscription Service and Updates

Subscription Service

The FLO-2D Subscription Service comes with a complete update of the latest software and technical support until the next release.  If the user is current with the previous version of FLO-2D,  order this subscription service to update the newest version.

Update

The FLO-2D Update can be purchased when upgrading from a version earlier then v2007.  The subscription service has lapsed and a full update purchase is necessary.  This purchase includes a full and current software upgrade and technical support until the next release.
